Apollo XVIII is a multi-channel video installation that explores man’s relationship to space exploration.
Weaving computer-generated imagery with archival footage from real NASA missions and Hubble photos, Brambilla presents a fictitious journey to the moon and back, reinterpreting mankind’s space exploration in the electronic age.
During March 2015, Times Square was transformed into a virtual launchpad as Apollo XVIII played across dozens of electronic billboards from 11:57 p.m. to midnight.
