Heaven’s Gate opens at Sphere Vegas

After paying homage to the legendary Elvis Presley in September 2023, Marco Brambilla is unveiling his piece Heaven’s Gate, at Las Vegas' iconic Sphere. This monumental digital artwork is set to illuminate the spherical display from December 1st, 2023, until February 18th, 2024.
Initially showcased at the Perez Museum in Miami, this 360-degree video artwork will light up Sphere’s state-of-the-art LED exterior.
Heaven’s Gate joins Marco Brambilla’s Megaplex series, following pieces like Civilization (2008), Evolution (2010), Creation (2012), and the recent King Size (2023) displayed inside the Sphere as part of U2’s live show.
The continuous loop of Heaven’s Gate takes its audience on an immersive journey through the seven levels of Purgatory, each stage meticulously crafted with looping samples extracted from iconic moments in cinematic history. With its highly detailed visuals and carefully woven narrative, the artwork invites viewers to traverse these diverse landscapes, offering a rich tapestry that encapsulates Brambilla's distinctive artistic vision.
